"It all started with a smartphone and a flower..."

11 years ago, I was at my grandfathers house for a visit. I had decided to spend sometime outside (I always loved being outside, there's just something so freeing...like anything was possible). It was in the prime of summer so all of the flowers, trees, and various plants were in their full and most beautiful stages of bloom with vivid, breathtaking colors. Even the green seemed especially alluring that summer. It was also the very first time I had ever owned a smartphone and when the camera's in them were just getting good. I walked around and snapped a few routine photo's just like anyone

else appreciating their surroundings. However, I took a closer look at one of the photo's I had taken, which was a close up of a flower, and in that precise moment was when I felt it. I fell in love with photography. I fell in love with the immense detail and design of that one simple little flower. I fell in love with capturing the perfect moment in time that tells a beautiful story or the picture that brings back a memory putting a ridiculous smile on your face. It was in that moment that I realized photography isn't just something you see. It's something you feel.
